The Formulation
THE FORMULATION
The same standard. A different application.
Clinical formulations.
Every Talurā product is anhydrous, emulsifier-free, and built entirely from active ingredients. The base is tallow, the lipid substrate most structurally analogous to the skin’s own sebum. Active Manuka Honey at UMF 15+ / MGO 514+ is used across the line at clinically meaningful concentrations, not as a label claim.
In the clinical line, this standard is held against a different problem: fragile, atrophic, lipid-depleted skin in long-term care, post-acute, and pressure-injury-prevention contexts. The principles do not change. The concentrations, the priorities, and the actives selected for the population do.
NO EMULSIFIERS · NO WATER · NO SYNTHETICS
FRAGILE & COMPROMISED SKIN SUPPORT
Standard topicals address the moisture barrier in isolation.
None simultaneously deliver antimicrobial activity at the wound interface, anti-inflammatory support at peri-wound tissue, and lipid replenishment for atrophic skin. The Talurā Clinical line was built to do all three.
THREE PRINCIPLES, EXPRESSED IN THIS CONTEXT
Tallow as Delivery Vehicle
Tallow integrates with atrophic elderly skin. It reduces transepidermal water loss and resists maceration — the driver of Stage I to Stage II pressure injury progression. In a population where standard aqueous products evaporate before they integrate, a tallow base persists at the application site and does the work the formulation was designed to do.
Manuka Honey · UMF 15+ / MGO 514+
Used at 10 to 15 percent across the clinical line. Sustained antimicrobial and biofilm-disrupting activity at the wound interface. Held in contact longer than aqueous preparations, which dilute into wound exudate or require frequent reapplication.
Jojoba, Elevated for This Population
Used at 5 to 10 percent in the clinical line — meaningfully higher than standard formulations. Reduces shear force during application. Mechanical trauma at the moment of contact is a clinical variable in a population where skin tears at minor stress, not a comfort consideration.

WHAT THE CLINICAL FORMULATION DOES NOT INCLUDE
No frankincense (excluded for open-skin contraindication). No beeswax. No essential oils. No synthetic fragrance. No water. For external use only.
THE CLINICAL REASONING
